Dublin, Ashtanga Yoga and Peter Sanson - the perfect combination!
There were four days of practice, and one conference with Peter Sanson and 4 days for a lot of walking to find out as much as I could of this city, that simply leaves marks on our face for so many smiles made of such beauty observed. It is a town with an easy and simple dynamic, perhaps because the locals are so friendly, demonstrating readiness whenever we need some help. You can see the city center in a day or two, visiting the references that appear in any tourist guide, my favorites were - the renowned Trinity College, the beautiful Dublin Castle, the historic Christ Church Cathedral, walk through Temple Bar, turning on the streets and finding restaurants with vegetaria and super tasty food and well made as the Cornucopia or Blazing Salads, go walking along the busy Grafton Street, to enter the St. Stephen's Green and dazzle us with the amount of people as ourselves that came to the garden to rest in the middle of the day and let the sun, which shines surprisingly in fully clear sky, light the discovery skin of the "layers". For those who still have energy can visit the National Gallery and the National Museum, as well as the famous Natural History Museum, pass through the area of Merrior Square, and from there go finish the walk along the Canal.
With the requirement to practice the next day, it is necessary to make decisions to explore the city by arranging where to go. Outside the center there is a whole universe of Nature to discover, like going to Howth, do the walks, there are 4 and you can choose the level of difficulty and duration, it will contain special view sigh and moments of reflection. In return i advise you to lunch at THE HOUSE, the mushroom soup and the salmon sandwich on brown bread are amazing, for total vegetarians there are choice of salads and other dishes, all it seemed fresh and tasty. Another point that is emphasized by beauty and energy is Killiney, where I had the privilege of getting to live, and every day, when i returned from classes or my walks, and the train passed the Dalkey station to Killiney, i always stood to lose myself with sea immensity and the bay with of valleys and mountains of WICKLON. If Niamh had not spoken that the place where she took me on Saturday afternoon was her secret, I would be happy to explain exactly how to go there, but I can only write that we caught a boat and 5m i was in paradise, one island with seals, rabbits and bird species that had never seen. This green Island was amazing, it look like i was taking steps through her ancestors since the time of the Vikings! But in the midst of all this, there was always day of practice, and on top, day of practice with PETER SANSON in BLACKROCK in the school of David and Paula. When I reached the mat, I recognized faces that have seen here at our home, friends of Mysore and also Irish practitioners who came to practice with Peter here in Ashtanga Cascais, they received me with welcome smiles and i started my first day of practice in the presence of Peter, who during the lesson reminds us of the inner intention, the power of breathing, the importance of not force the body, the amount of stupid things we think we need to do, when we do not really need anything more than to extend the matt and start with the Surya Namaskar. Constantly reminds the role of dristhis as energy instrument to conduct energy where we look. On the second day, the room was again intense, heat, the walls dripped water, from the result of the practitioners of the previous shifts, I noticed that I was more tired, the day before i walked through the Center city and my legs resented the done kms. The third day of practice was done in the morning after a late night dinner with my Irish friends, and also i made the walk and visit to Howth, the body was visibly tired but using the tips of Peter, and after a few moves and postures, it looked like it had taken a tablet of pure energy. The fourth day was practiced with Peter's words in my heart, because the day before we had conference, and in his relaxed, calm and humor, he has been warning for some care. He gave an example of a practitioner who he met in one of his workshops. He said he was guiding this person by the vinyasas of Surya Namaskar A, and when it was time to say, "Expires and hands on the ground," the man made the move and let out a yell, Peter asked him what had happened, and he replied, and sorry, listenning to Peter telling this has a lot more fun, but he said, "THERE IS SOMETHING BACK THERE!" to which Peter replied, "Yeah, there is, is your hamstring! " We laughed, I laughed a lot, until Peter says, "So good, you think this is a joke, because it's funny, but it is immensely sad! The level of disconnection we have with our bodies! We walked, all of us (and he looked for everyone in the room) disintegrated with ourselves! " He discussed how we all have patterns, one hip is higher up than the other, an arm stretching and the other slightly bending, pain at the cervical, or lumbar spine, others suffer from pain in the knees or have the back the legs so stiff like cement, and that the practice will involve careful work that is born by the breath to clean our body, so we can bring energy to the blocked areas of our bodies to begin to be a change in patterns. He gave his example, that when he began practicing Ashtanga, and that when Guruji asked him to sit cross-legged on the floor, that his knees came almost up to his shoulders, such was the lack of flexibility in the hips, legs, etc. . He practiced with Guruji for years, followed his directions and advice, and gradually his body has changed, as well as the mind. He told us that doesn´t matter who has the best practice clothes, or the prettiest, who makes the most advanced position, neither the external appearance of the positions that we do, it does not matter whether we are beautiful or not within the postures, but we focus in the breath, concentration and the right intention for an energetic work of cleaning, physical, mental and emotional detoxification. It was the perfect combination, Dublin, Ashtanga Yoga and Peter Sanson!
Happy practicing!
