WHEN AND HOW YOU BEGAN TO PRACTICE YOGA?
I began practicing yoga in early 2005, in Brazil. However, the physical practice of Ashtanga following the format of Mysore style, appeared in late 2009, in Australia. The first contact was through a good friend who had recently adopted the practice. The second by an "unknown " at a bus stop! ( laughing )
Back to 2005 ... without knowing i start practicing an average of 5 days per week, often taking lessons two or three times a day. The "commitment" with the studies of financial administration and an alleged model career were exchanged by the Yoga mat, twisting, sweat, chanting Mantras, laughs, cries, intense adjustments, and prayer. Certainly the dedication to the physicality of practicing Yoga was born with the Mysore Style and the desire and need to learn and explore different postures (asanas).
ASHTANGA YOGA IS MORE THAN PHYSICAL, IT COMPRISE MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL LAYERS. CAN YOU SHOW US YOUR INTERPRETATION OF WHAT IS ASHTANGA YOGA?
In my opinion, Ashtanga Yoga is like a climb to the heavens to meet harmony and beauty. If this journey end at the "base" (the physical ... you might experience frustration, doubt or boredom ... and you will give up! If detached from where or when will you arrive at the destination, you can enjoy and vibrate, and have direct experience! This escalation by itself will bring you moments of bliss and contentment. The heavens, the beauty, the harmony become the result of unbroken continuity of this practice, this is Ashtanga Yoga.
WHEN YOU THINK OF AN ASHTANGA PRACTITIONER, WHO YOU THINK ABOUT AND WHY?
I could not help to first think of Eileen Hall. Her continuing dedication to the yogic philosophy, especially in the mat and off of it. She inspires me in many ways.
IF YOU HAD TO EXPLAIN TO SOMEONE THE REASONS THAT MAKE YOU PRACTICING ASHTANGA, 6 DAYS A WEEK, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
The reasons are numerous. The physical practice of Ashtanga Yoga strengthens the body, challenges the mind on a large scale, requires the practitioner to find and keep HARMONY. For me it became the most intense form of celebration, gratitude, honesty, worship "the temple", "the vehicle", the body.
YOU ARE HAVING THE PRIVILEGE TO BE ASSISTANT OF ONE OF THE GREATEST REFERENCES IN ASHTANGA YOGA TEACHING IN AUSTRALIA, EILEEN HALL. HOW AS BEEN THAT EXPERIENCE?
Eileen taught me the primary physical movements of Ashtanga Yoga , is my biggest influence in transmission of teaching Yoga. Through it, i understand the importance of LOVE, GRATITUDE, PRESENCE AND ASSERTIVENESS CULTIVATION, when you are teaching.

IN A WORLD THAT IS INCREASINGLY LIVING FOR THE OUTSIDE, ASHTANGA YOGA BRING US BACK TO OUR INSIDE. CAN YOU DESCRIBE IN A SMALL SENTENCE, WHAT YOU FEEL AND EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU ARE PRACTICING?
I feel UNIQUE and immersed in what is unique.
