Writting about Peter Sanson is write a text full of praise, sketching through words serious gratitude, felt true and deeply. Talking about this teacher will be trying to show you how those four days have profoundly marked the way I think, feel and practice our Ashtanga Yoga. His approach is unique, very unique, but it brings an idea of how it would be study with Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. There was a quiet and introspective energy that surrounds our bodies, which were interrupted only by the need to guide us, his attention calls served to highlight something that was running away from us, something that we have not understood, could be, in breathing, a motion or a posture. We were constantly awakened to actually enter into each of our breaths, in each of the postures. He showed us how we are masters of escaping from ourselves, how we nearly perfectly avoid an obstacle, a hardship, a nuisance, a particular posture, a certain movement, could be out of fear, ignorance, disbelief, or any other reason . With few words led us to live within the asana, led us to feel our body into pure communication with our mind where we truly used the breath. Stressed the importance of the drishtis, bandhas and breath, wiped us pretensions of wanting more and more positions, asked us to put aside the idea that Ashtanga Yoga is circus, stressed that this is an internal practice, that to be lived and experienced it will be enough to maintain an attitude of simplicity, reliability, serenity. Opened us the door to a practice without effort, without pretensions, without stiffness. Showed us how he learned with Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and passed us, once again, lessons for the practice and for life.
